Urbanization and industrialization demands highly qualified competent Civil Engineers. Considered as one of the oldest engineering disciplines, Civil Engineering involves planning, designing and executing infrastructural development works. The profession deals with a wide variety of tasks that envisages designing, supervision and construction activities of bridges, tunnels, buildings, airports, dams, water works, sewage systems, ports, etc. and offer a multitude of challenging career opportunities. With privatization, liberalization, and globalization the scope of Civil Engineering has enhanced many folds.
Civil Engineering department has been established in 2010. The department has highly qualified Faculties with academics & industrial experience having roots with NITs. We have well equipped laboratories with latest equipments and software. The students of the department also excel in the University and secure merit ranks every year. The department is headed by Prof. Ashfaque Ansari, Assistant Professor and Head of Department. In all we have nine laboratories viz, (Strength of Material, Concrete Technology, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Surveying, etc)   having carpet area of Approx  630 Sq. mt. having overall Investment of Approx. Rs. 60 Lakhs . The Department is also providing testing and consultancy services in the field of Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental / Waste water Engineering, Concrete Technology, Transportation Engineering, Strength of materials and Estimation and Surveying work with its well-equipped laboratories. The department has the student forum named as Association of Civil Engineering Students (ACES), a platform for students to exhibit their academic and extra-curricular talent through various seminars, workshops and conferences conducted by students themselves. The Department regularly organizes visits to Construction Sites & Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants to give practical exposure to the students and staff and to promote industry-institute interaction.
